Genau darauf zielte meine Frage ab. Das hatte ich nämlich auch gedacht, fand dann aber im BERTELSMANN Wörterbuch folgende Definition:

ig|no|rant [Adj. , o. Steig.; abwertend] unwissend, absichtlich keine Beachtung schenkend
